Privacy Policy
Effective [Effective Date] · Version 2026-10-23.2
This policy explains what information Linea (“we”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers our website and the Linea service. Linea is for businesses; when a business uses Linea to talk with its own customers, that business decides how its customers' information is used, and we process it on the business's behalf.
Two roles we play
- For our own customers (the businesses and their team members who use Linea), we decide how account, billing, and usage information is used.
- For the people our customers talk to (callers and people who text a Linea number), we act as a service provider or processor: we handle that information only to provide the service to the business, under its instructions. Questions about how a business uses your information should go to that business; we'll help it respond.
Information we collect
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Name, work email, password (hashed), business name, team roles | You |
| Billing | Plan, seats, billing address; card or bank details are held by Stripe, not us | You, Stripe |
| Call and text records | Phone numbers, times, durations, routing, delivery status | Generated when calls and texts happen |
| Communications content | Text messages, voicemail and call recordings (when a business turns recording on), transcripts and call summaries, messages taken by the AI receptionist | Callers, texters, and you |
| 911 information | Registered emergency address and who confirmed it | You |
| Texting registration | Legal name, EIN (or, without one, your name and a code sent to your cell), business address and contact | You |
| Device and usage | IP address, browser, pages used, error logs | Your browser and our servers |
How we use it
- To provide the service: connect calls, deliver texts, take voicemails, run the AI receptionist, and route emergency calls.
- To bill you, prevent fraud and abuse, secure accounts, and keep the service reliable.
- To meet legal and carrier requirements, such as 911 address records, business texting registration, and responding to lawful requests.
- To communicate with you about your account, the service, and changes to it.
We don't use communications content to train AI models, and where our providers offer the option we turn off their use of it for model training.
Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI)
CPNI is information about your use of our phone service, such as the numbers you call, when, and for how long, and the services you buy. Federal law gives you a right to have it protected.
- We use CPNI only to provide, bill for, and protect the service. We don't use it for marketing and don't share it with third parties for their own use.
- Before discussing call details with anyone, we verify identity: through your signed-in account, a callback to the number on record, or sending records to the email on record.
- We notify you when your password, email, or account contact details change.
- If CPNI or other personal information is breached, we notify affected customers and the authorities as the law requires.
How long we keep it
| Information | Kept |
|---|---|
| Account and billing records | While your account is open, then as long as tax and accounting law requires |
| Texts, voicemails, call recordings, transcripts, AI-call records | While your account is open, unless you delete them; removed within 30 days after cancellation |
| Call and usage records | Up to 2 years, for billing disputes and fraud prevention |
| 911 address confirmations and legal acceptance records | As long as the law requires (at least 3 years) |
| Security logs | Up to 90 days |

If your information came to us through a business using Linea, we'll route your request to that business.
